I guess we need a separate for the whole extended GBV discography. Bee Thousand deserved better!

realizing I need to invest in some dust / cat hair removal solutions before I can start posting my budget synth pics to thegear.page @alex

Today I crossed a big looming project deadline's event horizon wherein procrastination makes once intractably unpleasant tasks newly possible. So far I have compiled and printed a bunch of Quebec tax stuff, booked summer travel, and given the cat her tick preventative.

the Reverb-vs-eBay markup on these guys is pretty wild right now, glad I held out a while

finally living up to my bio on here

(I need to make a large number of exactly 1.5 second recordings for a project, so I think the approach is justified if still procrastinate-y)

going dawless aka using bash scripts and ffmpeg

once every 2 years I fix my sights on a hardware synth and spend 6 months working up the nerve to shell out roughly $200 for it

with today's ebay purchase of a yamaha tx7, the cycle has reset

I've set up a second hometown account over at @akstuhl where I plan to do more of my work-related posting. May do some gradual follow-reshuffling but anyone should feel free to follow both/either/neither

@andy My sister got into running recently, so for her birthday I made her an mp3 mix of songs with "run" in the title.

When I got to Tom Petty's "Running Down a Dream" I was surprised to hear the track end with: "Hello CD listeners. We've come to the point in this album where those listening on cassette or record will have to stand up or sit down and turn over the record or tape. In fairness to those listeners we will now take a few seconds before we begin side two."

was honestly so thrilling to hear these megastars deliver iconic lines I remembered from the book (well the audiobook in my case)

like when Zendaya said "END PART ONE. TURN TAPE OVER."

Whereas Mastodon is a social media / microblogging platform, there are other federated sites that offer different uses.

#PeerTube: like YouTube, an open source replacement for video hosting
#FunkWhale: Like SoundCloud, for music
#Bookwyrm: Like Goodreads
#Pixelfed: like Instagram, offers image galleries

All of these, including Masto, can talk to each other - so you can create an account on a Bookwyrm instance to keep track of your reading, and people on Masto can follow it! 🤯
