Thinking about how my aunt said she needed to know the sex of our upcoming baby because her friend is going to make a quilt. I cannot think of any less-important quilt-making information than chromosomes
@alex I feel that. My wife and I did an end-around on that stuff by not finding out before birth. Although, the “how can you not want to know?” convos were also very annoying
@alex yeah, as a quiltmaker I can say that animals and pretty patterns are 100% good for all babies. I just made three quilts of otters, foxes, and hedgehogs respectively and didn't need a single gender marker to do so.
And contrariwise I can't think of a less important reason to impress gender roles on a newborn than making a quilt.
