I hate this assumption a lot of writers and analysts are making that blue states have these robust health care systems capable of taking on people from like 4-7 neighboring states. We don't have enough capacity as it is

nor do most working people have the money in savings or the understanding boss it would take for an unexpected road trip, but of course every political analyst assumes people have 2.5 cars per household and attend brunch.

when I needed a therapist, I sent out 80 calls, messages and emails and got two replies. And that was for any mental health provider at all. I wasn't looking for a particular specialist. And I hit up surrounding cities bc virtual was an option.

Our health care blows and isn't reliable where time is a factor.
